offers homes from $150s to nearly $400K

With offices on U.S. 29 just south of Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Southampton Homes is in its sixth year and has developed 15 communities. Most familiar are Moorecrest on Popular Tent Road in Concord and Tanner’s Creek in Huntersville.
Here’s a look at what Newman Manor and The Village at Brierfield have to offer.
Large lots, plenty of features
Newman Manor in Kannapolis has 29 wooded home sites ranging in size from a little more than one-third acre to an acre, and offers seven floor plans from 2,500 square feet to 4,000 square feet.
“Ten home sites are still available,” said Russ McCullough, onsite sales agent. “The lots are large, with the average being 95 feet wide.”
Newman Manor homes have brick front exteriors, side-entry garages, sealed crawl space foundations, sodded front yards with irrigation systems, 9-foot (smooth) ceilings, 42-inch cabinets in the kitchen, hardwood flooring and ceramic tile flooring in the kitchen and master bath. Master bathrooms feature vaulted ceilings and over-size showers with full tile.
Seven floor plans are available, with the smallest being the Sutton, featuring 2,719 square feet of living space with four bedrooms (master bedroom and guest bedroom on the first floor) and priced starting at $345,900. The largest plan is the Windemere, boasting 3,245 square feet. The Windemere also features the master bedroom and a guest bedroom on the first floor, and it is priced from $378,900.
The model home is the Barringer, which has 2,642 square feet and starts at $355,900. McCullough added that another popular floor plan is the Silverton at 3,579 square feet and priced from $373,900. “It’s a lot of house for the money,” he said.
Three inventory homes are available for sale in Newman Manor: A Barringer plan priced at $396,500, a Montgomery at $398,750 and a Sutton at $398,509.
Schools serving the Kannapolis community are Winecoff Elementary, Northwest Cabarrus Middle and Northwest Cabarrus High.

Spacious for less than $200K
The Village at Brierfield has 87 home sites, with 57 sites remaining. Homes in this neighborhood incur only Mecklenburg County taxes. Home sites range from 40-feet wide to 70-feet wide, and homes range from 1,400 square feet to 2,257 square feet.
Five floor plans are offered in The Village at Brierfield, with the most popular being the Seneca, which is also the model home. The Seneca features three bedrooms and a bonus room, and it is priced starting from $163,900. The second most popular plan is the Davidson II, which also has three bedrooms.
“The master bedroom in the Davidson II is huge,” said Tami Butler, the onsite sales agent. “It also has his-and-her closets.” Both the Seneca and the Davidson II floor plans feature the staircase in the rear of the home off the family room — another popular feature.
Three inventory homes also are available for sale in The Village at Brierfield: A Davidson II priced at $178,300, a Seneca plan priced at $182,300 and a Lakeview II priced at $196,300.
Children attend University Meadows Elementary, Martin Middle and Vance High.

Southampton Homes begins development on 50 home sites in Glengrove on Roberta Farm Road (off Pitts School Road) in Concord later this month. According to Tina Powell, Southampton Homes marketing director, the lots will be 75 feet wise, and homes will range in size from about 2,000 square feet to 3,000 square feet, with side-entry garages. Homes will be priced starting in the $220s.
