What’s your favorite lunch spot in University City, and what’s the best thing on the menu?
Conrad Hartle, who now owns King Tiger Tae Kwon Do at Lake Norman after four years of working at the U. City King Tiger, likes to visit Tanaka Grill and Sushi in the Bi-Lo shopping center on Prosperity Church Road.
“I still train at King Tiger Tae Kwon Do in University City four to five days a week, and Tanaka Grill is one of my favorite stops when I am in the area,” said Hartle. “I like to go with my family most Saturdays after training.”
Hartle said the hibachi grilled items and the sushi are healthy choices that fill him up without making him feel full. “My typical meal is either the Hibachi Scallops ($8.50), or a couple of Highland Rolls ( $3.25 per roll) with some Seaweed Salad,” he said..
At Tanaka Grill, “the staff is always friendly, and they accommodate special orders with a smile,” said Hartle. “I have been a customer for years.”
